ASUP Strike: FG, Pity Polytechnics Students

Nobody is really talking about the ongoing strike embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP). For over eight months now, students have been at home, and while the public is not putting pressure on government to accede to the request of the lecturers, the Federal Government is also not behaving as if the issue is an emergency. Is it because we are polytechnic students? Things were not this silent when members of the Academic Staff of Union of Universities (ASUU) went on strike last year. If Nigerians no longer value polytechnic education, then we should abolish the system, instead of classing the students as second fiddle. I am, therefore, calling on President Goodluck Jonathan to wade into the crisis so that the innocent students can return to school.
