A member representing Kauru Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rep. Simon Arabo, said the National Assembly has been doing its own bit in making sure that government and the teachers reach some kind of agreement.
He also described the year-old strike action upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) as a scandal.

Arabo said this while receiving award from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) yesterday.

“Both the teachers and the government should know that this kind of long strike does not help anybody. Such things don’t happen anywhere in the world. It is only in Nigeria that such kind of strikes happened,” Arabo said.

The Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics, ASUP embarked on an indefinite strike to press home the implementation of their demands from the federal government.
