HUNDREDS of Students from various polytechnics and colleges of Educations troop to the streets in Lagos to protest over the lingering strike embarked upon by Academic Staff Unions in polytechnics And College of Education that has left the tertiary institutions closed for more than 9 months.
Lamenting their continued stay at home due to the strike actions, the placard carrying students demanded that the federal government should implement the 2009 ASUP agreement and end the HND/BSC dichotomy.
The protest caused traffic gridlock on the Herbert Macaulay road in Yaba area of Lagos.
Report has it that Nigeria police, like sardine, has packed and are still packing the innocent polytechnic students inside black Maria.
Liveschoolnews.com.ng grapevine gathered that, Over 50 girls have been forced inside the black maria.
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, and Colleges of Education and Academic Staff Union, COEASU, have been on eight-month and six-month strike respectively.
