Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin Professor AbdulGaniyu Ambali has said that to avoid strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), there is a need for the Federal Government and the union to put in place a monitoring committee that would ensure that agreements reached between both parties are faithfully implemented.

Ambali said this during an interview with members of the university’s chapter of the Association of Campus Journalist, according to the institution’s bulletin.

The vice chancellor said the establishment of a monitoring committee was necessary so that agreements reached between the two parties would be seen to be implemented. He maintained that such would minimise conflicts.
