JAMB Registration 2019: Eighteen Things Candidates Must Know It is no longer  news that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced registration for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, for candidates seeking admission into any tertiary institution in Nigeria for the 2019/2020 academic session. The exercise is expected to last for six weeks.

Candidates intending to registered for the 2019/2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have been warned to carry out their registration in accredited centers approved by JAMB.

Having said that, Below are 18 things potential candidates must take note of:

1. JAMB will start the sale of 2019 UTME forms January 10.

2. The period of sale/registration for all candidates (UTME/DE) including those from Foreign Countries is from 10th January 2019 to 21st February 2019

3. There will be 2019 JAMB Mock Examination whose date will soon be announced.

4. There will be 2019 JAMB Mock Examination. The date for MOCK examination shall be from Saturday 23rd February, 2019.

5. JAMB has banned the use of wristwatches and pens by candidates and other persons in the exam hall.

6. The price of the 2019 UTME registration form will cost a total of N4,700 as broken down below:

a. Cost of registration pin: N3,500

b. Compulsory reading text: N500

c. Service charge for registration: N700

Total: N4,700.

7. The 2019 CBT EXAMINATION will commence on Saturday, 16th March and end on Saturday, 23rd March, 2019.

8. It is highly recommended for candidates to get the 2019 JAMB brochure and JAMB syllabus.

9. Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters in Abuja.

10. Candidates who are blind are to indicate by typing BLIND and also picking the option of writing their examination through CBT mode or Read Examination Aloud.

11. Candidates are not allowed to pay NOT more than N700 as Service Charge to any of the accredited CBT Centres (Do not accept to leave your particulars for proxy registration. It will disqualify you)

13. Candidates can recovered their lost ePIN by sending [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 for UTME or DE respectively from the unique number.

14. One Cell (mobile) number (SIM) can be used by one candidate only.

15. Every candidate is to note that the 1st choice can be a College of Education, University, Innovation Enterprise Institution, Polytechnic/Monotechnic, Nigerian Defence Academy or the Police Academy

16. The recommended books / novels for 2019 examinations are; “Sweet Sixteen” by Bolaji Abdullahi for UTME Candidates and “The Last Days at Forcados High School” by A. H. Mohammed for DE Candidates and $20 for Candidates from the eight foreign centres.

17. Candidates are to read and understand the guidelines on admission and instructions on how to complete the online registration before commencing the process of registration.

18. Multiple registrations are not allowed. Candidates who register more than once will be identified and disqualified.
