The Lagos State Government, through the State Scholarship Board, is set to conduct 2013/2014 Local Scholarship screening test for indigenes of the State as part of efforts to reduce financial burden on its citizenry in providing qualitative education for their children and wards.
The Director/Secretary, Lagos State Scholarship Board, Mrs. Omauton Yetunde Jegede, who disclosed this recently, said the State Government annually gives the award to support indigent but brilliant students studying in various tertiary institutions across the country.
Jegede noted that interested applicants must fulfill certain requirements including evidence of being an indigene of Lagos State and must also possess a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Aggregate of 3.50 and above (Upper Credit) before being considered for the award.
She disclosed that students with First Class Grade and disable ones are automatically qualified for the award.
The Director announced that the test, which will be conducted by a private Consultancy Firm, will be computer based and hold between 2nd and 4th of December, 2014, while successful applicants will later be invited for oral interview.
The sales of form which started on Monday October 27 will end on Friday, November 21, 2014.
The award value ranges between N200, 000 for undergraduates, N300, 000 for Master’s Degree and N400, 000 for Doctorate degree.
