The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has once again expressed deep concern over the prolonged strike embarked upon by the Academic staff Union of Polytechnics and College of education Academic Staff Union (COEASU).
The ASUU President, Dr Nasir Fagge, pressed on the Federal Government to urgently resolve the contending issues that made lecturers of Polytechnics and colleges of education embarked on the strike.
Fagge, made the call in Abuja while briefing newsmen on the state of the Nation.
For the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), the strike has been on for the past ten months now, while for the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union, COEASU, members, the strike has been on for the past 5 months.
We cannot but bring to your notice once again that members of the two unions demanded that the Federal Government should remove the dichotomy between HND and degree graduates and with the NEC meeting slated 27th and 28th of May, the White paper and all matters concerning the lingering strike is expected to be resolved with the Federal Government.
