NLC URGED NOT TO JOIN ASUU STRIKE

The leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has been urged not to join the ongoing ASUU strike in the interest of stability and the future of young Nigerians.

Founder and general leader of Unity Project Nigeria (UPN),
Igwekawla Leo Ugomaduefule made the appeal in a press statement issued in Abuja yesterday. He said the NLC is threatening to join the strike action by bringing in its affiliate unions to shut down operations, explaining that this would cripple socio-economic activities and retard the development process of the nation. Ugomaduefule who noted that efforts by the federal government to make significant fund concession to meet ASUU demands have made its leadership to assume a more radical dimension, cautioned ASUU and NLC leadership to retrace their steps in the interest of peace.
