Authorities of the Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun have introduced new dress code for both the male and female students of the institution to ensure sanity within the campus of the college.

The Acting Provost of the college, Dr Bashiru Gbadamosi who announced this at the maiden Matriculation ceremony for students undergoing degree programme of the Ekiti State University at the college, said the institution introduced the dress code to avoid indecent dressing by students while on campus. He said the new dress code would afford the students sense of dressing, which would in turn be beneficial to the society.

Dr Gbadamosi who frowned at the level of indiscipline amongst students of tertiary institutions in the country, said the authorities of the institution would be strict with the new dress code, adding that erring students would be severely punished.

He averred that “it is morally deficient to engage in indecent dressing on campus.

In fact, the college has dress code entrenched in the college handbook, which all students should compulsorily adhere to. Violation of the dress code is considered a serious act of misconduct and shall attract stiff penalty.”

While administering the oath of matriculation on the 335 new students of the university, the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti state University,
Professor Patrick Aina warned the students against cultism, examination malpractices and other delinquencies capable of making them forfeit their studentship.

He noted that the university is rated as one of the best in Law and Education programmes in the country and urged the students to contribute their quota to the growth of the institution.

He urged the new students to work assiduously to justify the dreams of the founding fathers of the university by playing responsible roles in contributing to the human capital development needs of the country.
