Three suspected cultists students of ICT Polytechnic, Igbesa, in Ogun State, have been apprehended by the police for attempting to forcefully initiate a reluctant student into their cult group.

The Police Command Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, while confirming the arrest in Abeokuta on Sunday said the Anti-Crime Patrol team attached to Agbara Division of the Command arrested the suspects on Friday at about 2 a.m.

Mr. Adejobi said the suspects wanted their reluctant new catch to become a member of Vikings confraternity.

He gave the names of the suspects arrested as Kenneth Mokwunye (24), Adigun David (18) and Okwuma Obiora (17).

The police say the suspects threatened to kill their reluctant colleague for failing to join their cult group.

The student eventually raised the alarm for his safety, police said.

The Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, according to the command’s spokesperson, has commended the victimised student for exposing the antics and threats of the suspected cultists.

He also advised other students experiencing such to reveal their ordeals at the hands of cultists to security operatives in order to save their lives and that of others.
