A polytechnic student in Kwara State has been apprehended by the police for criminally procuring firearm.

Liveschoolnews.com.ng grapevine grapevine gathered that the suspect, Hammed (first name withheld) was reportedly arrested in the school premises after a search where two live cartridges were recovered from his handbag.

According to a police source, Hammed was arrested in the school premises after a thorough search by the police.

“Some police officers were on surveillance on the Kwara Polytechnic and on sighting Hammed, they stopped and searched him. Two firearm cartridges were found in his bag. During interrogation, he confessed that the live cartridges belong to him,” the source explained.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP AjayiOkasanmi, confirmed that the student was arrested on the school campus.

“One Bashiru Hammed, a polytechnic student was arrested for criminally procuring firearm with intent to use it for heinous crime. Investigation is still on going to unmask and apprehend those at large,’’ the PPRO said.
