The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) that embarked on an indefinite strike on October 4, 2013, will today meet with representatives of the Federal Government over their grievances.

President of the union, Chibuzo Asomugha told Daily Trust that the union agreed to meet with the government today with a view to bringing to an end the industrial action.

“Government agreed to attend to four demands in July last year out of which only two including the appointment of governing council into six polytechnics and establishment of needs assessment committee received attention.

Government refused to fund the needs assessment committee on the grounds that there was no money. So, government is not sincere but just hoodwinking people,” he said.
