Authorities of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) on Monday direct its students to proceed on a compulsory two-week mid-semester break.
liveschoolnews.org grapevine gathered that, authorities of the institution order its students to vacate the school premises with immediate effect.
Although the authority of the university explained that the closure was a temporary break, a source said it was intended to avert a riot, which would have been carried out by the students.
A student of UNN, who spoke under condition of anonymity, said that they had been faced with acute water scarcity and epileptic power supply for a long time.
Consequently, all academic activities on the campuses are hereby suspended for the period.
Students are by this notice directed to vacate their hostels within the next 24 HOURS, ie not later than 6pm on TUESDAY, JUNE 02, 2015.
Report from the area said that the development had generated mixed reactions from the students, who said it would even worsen the already sour relationship between the university authority and the students.
Meanwhile, Students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, have gone on rampage over the sudden closure of the institution.
