THE feud between the president of the Students Union Government of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Mr. Noble Eyisi and the management of the institution has taken a new dimension  as report reaching as it that, the Students Representative Council(SRC) rose from an emergency sitting on the 18th day of May and placed the President of the Students Union Government (SUG) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Comr. Noble Eyisi on suspension.

The President was summoned to the house for explanations and to answer to the “Vote of no Confidence” passed on him by his fellow executives. The President failed to show up for the sitting and in line with the constitution of the SUG,he has been suspended.

With the suspension in place, he ceases to function in the full constitutional capacity as the President of the Students Union Government. Further publications made henceforth representing him as the Union’s President is misrepresentation and the party or parties involved will be served with procedural sanctions.

We wish to still maintain that there is peace in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. The students are going about their usual academic activities in line with the University calendar and the university community is peaceful. These issues are issues of the Students Union and we are following the laid down procedures to address it. Let no person or group of persons incite violence or occasion chaos;the executives have a very big problem and we are solving it in the most matured and articulated manner to protect the interest of our students and nation.

With this development, the union Vice President Comrade Ozems Precious will assume office as the acting President of the university SUG.

Eyisi had last week led a protest against the management of the university, claiming that the alleged hike in the post UTME examination from N1,000 to N2,000 and the imposition of compulsory N7,500 for biometric data capture were all moves geared at extorting students.
